They are..but as New iOS systems are implemented it's up to the developer to make it compatible with EACH iOS Version. If you have an iPhone4,4S,5 & running iOS7 then what ever App you use will have to be compatible WITH iOS7. Mostly all the Apps I currently have are updated to use iOS7 although i have not updated my iPhone just my iPad so most app's won't work on my iPhone because I'm still running iOS6. So you have to check with the developer to see if they will make an Update FOR..iOS7.
