Could this be an illusion due to the "longer" shape?
1st, 3G & 3GS: 320 px wide at 163 px/in = 1.96 in.
4, 4S, & 5: 640 px wide at 326 px/in = 1.96 in.
The displays all have the same width, but the 5's is longer/taller. If you
turn the 5 sideways, presumably you get a wider keyboard than any of the
others?
