Re: [apple-iphone] two phones on same acct.

You can use an alternate email address for iCloud. My wife and I share our iPhones and iPads on my  iTunes login, my Apple ID, but she uses her Yahoo email address for iCloud, so Photostream etc are seperate

I personally do not advise one account for multiple owners. It is okay to have multiple devices with the same iTunes account if you own or use all of them.

You will have the same iCloud, which means you have the same Photo Stream, the same you see what the websites are open on the other iPhone and vise versa, and all other iCloud services.

The only real advantage I can think of is you only get to pay for paid apps only once.

If you own or use both phones or you do not have qualms on privacy with the other person, then it's okay.

Re: [apple-iphone] iPhone5 Passcode - Help

PM, think about it. If the guy showed someone how to override the password, and it got out, then that someone could override the password on a stolen iPhone.

[apple-iphone] Re: "smart" spelling

The automatic spelling on my phone and on my mail is driving me nuts.
On my computer I went into mail prefs and under composing/check spelling I put NEVER.
I didn't see any other place to disable automatic spell check.

In system prefs, I chose under lang. and text.. I have unchecked correct spelling automatically

On my iphone, I don't know what/where to change it.

However after unchecking those items, I still get corrections constantly
If I spell a word that is not a "real" word like YADA (as in yada, yada, yada) it corrects it to Ada and no matter how many times I go back to correct it to what I want, the computer or mail still does it's own thing.

Is there something in prefs I am missing?

Thanks and

RE: [apple-iphone] two phones on same acct.

we do what you are seeking to do with our 4's, tom. we have a single
iTunes login but each phone is recognized independently when I connect them
to iTunes. we back-up to the PC only and not the cloud but I can't see why
each phone wouldn't have it's own identity in the cloud just as it does on
the PC.

I am using it on the iPad! Take a look at the screendump.

It will be taken out by YahooGroups, but I adressed you directly as well.

> I looked up SnowTape in the App Store on my iPad and came up with nothing.

You're right! It's gone.

And I cannot locate it in my list of 'bought items' either. Discontinued?

> I guess we will just have to wait until something shows up for the iPad.

To check what has happened I opened the App and went to the creators website.

It shows SnowTape2... For Mac only. No mention of any iOS version.

So I googled the product:

http://vemedio.com/products/snowtape_phone

But that link didn't bring me to the App store either. :-(

I'm quite satisfied with the App. It not only plays internet radio.... If you wish,

it also records these broadcasts, cuts them into seperate songs, adds cover art...

Perhaps has there been a change in Digital Rights Management and is this

App no longer allowed. It would explain a lot.

I'm sorry my advice didn't work out like I hoped it would be.

Stefan

[MacBook] Re: iTunes Question

Hi Stefan,

Snowtape looks like a good application for the Mac laptop.

I am looking for an application for the iPad. I looked up Snowtape in the App Store on my iPad and came up with nothing.

I guess we will just have to wait until something shows up for the iPad.

Thanks for the tip on Snowtape.

Cheers,
Bill

Re: [apple-iphone] Rumor: Apple Building Bluetooth Smart Watch

Even I do that and I am not young by any definition.
Smartphones update their time from service provider when you change time zone.
For me, it is quite convenient.

I use the App 'snowtape' for that.

Or you can take a website like www.england.fm and put it in your startscreen as an App.

Ever since the invention of the wristwatch, pocket watches have waned in popularity. I guess they're coming back now.

I'm sure Apple has noticed this, too…
