I think this went away with iOS 7. And it won't help with syncing read emails across your devices. Switch to IMAP email.

At least at one time, there was an iOS Mail Setting that allowed you to limit the number of messages/emails displayed both within the app as well as in the red bubble over the Mail icon on the Home screen. I think it allowed something like 25, 50, 100 and 200. Now I can't find the setting in either iOS 8.4.1 or 9.0. Does anyone know if this setting still exists? My iPhone 5s currently displays over 1,000 mails, because I read Mail mostly on my iPad and only occasionally clear out the iPhone.Dick JohnsonSent from my iPad 432 GB, iOS 8.4.1------------------------------------------------Richard E Johnson, ScM, MD, DABA
