It also depends on how old your backup for iOS is. A lots of apps won't work on iOS 11 unless updated. I lost a lot of old apps. Had to find replacements. May be better to start fresh.

Would you have to choose, Rich?
You may have that iTunes back-up, and using a Gmail account you're likely to have your Google stuff in their cloud.
I assume that you could restore that back-up, and still have access to your data at Google. Without any need to double them at Apple.
(I'm using both clouds, with an inclination toward Google due to my non-Apple stuff.)

I am switching back to the iPhone X next week from an Android phone. I had an
iPhone maybe a year back and might have a backup in iTunes.
I also downloaded the Apple "Move to iOS" app on my Android phone, that copies
pictures, messages and some other things..
I can't decide if its better to completely install my old iPhone backup which would
have all the apps I used to use, but old messages and photos or start fresh with
the "Move to iOS" and just have my current pictures and messages.

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.
