I have a charger/headphone adaptor in the car at all times. I use the one that came with my iPhone 8 Plus at home.

Same as having a charger in the car and another at work, just get a few adapters and
leave one in the car, one at work same as the chargers. If your really worried about
not having it, they are so small, put one in your wallet.
It's Apple, you pay extra same as the lighting connector change before, same as the
new iPhone has "fast" wireless fast charging but you have to pay extra for the fast
charger..
