May be it's my ruler but I measured the LIGHTED portion of the screen. My 6s Plus not the 6s, has a wider screen. I know the entire phone is larger but the height of the lighted portion is smaller. The area (H x L) of the lighted screen is larger in the X.
I don't have a 6s so I can't speak for it.

It IS bigger then the 8+ or the 7+. You're looking at the total size of the body and not the Screen itself. The Screen is 5.8 inches wide as opposed to the 5.5 inches for both the 7+ and 8+.
