I am presently on a sightseeing tour in India making use of several different hotels, and am having trouble getting connected to the hotels' WiFi systems on my iPhone.
When I go into Settings->Wi-Fi and click the appropriate network name for the hotel, the blue check mark appears in front of the name, indicating that I'm connected. Then, when I start any network action, the hotel's login screen appears and I fill that in appropriately.
However, I then get a message that the 'iPhone is not connected to the internet'. And, sure enough, when I go back to the Wi-Fi settings screen, the check mark has disappeared from the network name.
Now, I've used this procedure many times all over the US and elsewhere. What's more, I don't have the problem with the iPad (clearly, since I'm now using it to send this message). And my wife is able to get her iPhone connected.
It seems that I must have changed some setting or other. However, I have not yet been able to find what it might be.
Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Any suggestions would much appreciated.
Many thanks
