Use the free program Media Monkey instead of iTunes. True folder drag and drop by file. MUCH superior to sync from iTunes which seems to have a mind of its own. I have no doubt Apple will fix the problem with patches at some point, but as for now, managing all my media from Media Monkey is much better - then use iTunes to do a backup of the phone.
