Photo Stream allows you to share photos between all of your Apple devices & can be turned off in Settings>iCloud. Camera Roll represents those photos taken with or saved to the device on which it resides.

I want to remove as many photos from my phone as possible to free up memory & to eventually eliminate all music, etc. when I turn over this iPhone 4S, 16GB, running iOS 7.2 (last update before 8) to my husband. He uses his phone for calls & email, google search, google maps. I don't think I'll install iOS 8 on the 4S as he really doesn't need it. Is this a viable plan? Sent from my iPhone Jesse
