Take an iPhone along. Leave it in Airplane mode and turn on WiFi when needed.
Yes, the 5 weeks is a longer period, and the fact that it is just longer than a month may add to the frustration. My trips to England are usually 3 weeks at a time, so if the options were in monthly increments, generally "the scale is tripped" to go with a monthly plan.
