Pat's answer is a great hardware answer. I don't have a software answer, but a operational answer. Charge the iPhone at night, or get a battery case, or another charger.
I found the question very Rube Goldberg-esque. I have a small tool, that I want to be be alerted to by a larger tool.

Problem of Having one cell phone vs a landlne phone is just that if you don't have your phone with you and it rings it is hard to answer the phone. This is the fallacy of the whole system. what would be better would be the ability to have more than one cell phone with the same number so to have a phone in different parts of the house, but the way cell phones are structured now, it would be terribly expensive. I have to have my iphone clipped to me or next to me at all times or I lose track of where it is or I don't hear it or it is in my purse and I just can't dig it out on time. I panic whenever I can't find it. sometimes the sound is off and I really panic bc I can't find it and am worried that if it runs out of batteries I'll never find it!
