[apple-iphone] Calendar doesn't show Birthday age

iPhone 4S, iOS 5 Calendar doesn't show a person's age on their birthday.
That information is in my Contacts as their Birthdate, and it is shown as their age in iCal on my iMac, and it is in my iCloud calendar.

AppleCare says that all iPhone, iOS 5 or iOS 6 are like that. Did I get a brushoff, or is that true?
