yes, i believe you're correct about losing the data unless that is stored
within the app itself. if so i don't see how just uninstalling it from your
phone (refer to my earlier post) would destroy the data. but i'm not the
author/publisher and only they would know for sure.

I don't think this is possible. An Apple Bar Genius said you can't restore
the data from an app unless it is a paid app in which case the company may
keep your data on their central servers.
