I'll try that over the weekend. I still have the iPhone 6 but the screen is smashed so I wouldn't be able to use it. The only other thing I have paired with it is my car and that was difficult to get paired too. Since I use it everyday and the other devices 2-3 times a month I might wait to delete the car pairing. Maybe over the 4th of July holiday I can delete the car and see if I can pair the other devices.

Force restart the iPhone.
How to Force Restart or Hard Reset the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
1. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
2. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
3. Press and hold the Side button (aka power) until you see the Apple logo.
I have seen a problem where the iPhone is 'connected' to another device and will not connect to a new device. Go to Settings, Bluetooth, and if you have any devices paired that you no longer use, click on the "i" and "forget" them.
Do you still have the iPhone 6? If you no longer use it, "forget" the devices that won't pair to the iPhone 8.
