Would you think for resale an iPad 2 with an older iOS is better than one with the newest? If I get one of the new ones, I wouldn't want to screw up the old one whether I give it to a friend or sell it.

A friend with an iPad2 running iOS7 has not had any problems nor mentioned slowness.
