I think its working :)

I cant get into the 'Apple support communities' at apple.com but apparently my ID on the iPad is 'registered' - I can use my iPad & things.

I'll worry about it later - it doesn't seem to be affecting me now.
(though I can't find a 'iPad' forum that's not on apple.com
