Some confusion here, the passbook apps do not install into passbook, they provide coupons, etickets, store cards etc which can be added to passbook.
After creating a passbook item you won't see anything else in the passbook app, but you can go to another app and create another item for passbook.
If you go into the Starbucks app and have your card installed you can then create the card for passbook.
