I agree. I feel that the mini, is well, a mini. Designed to be smaler and lower cost. Adding Retina, etc, etc would make it just marginally cheaper. Which is pointless. Labour will be the same, materials, very slightly less.
Mini does not suit me, but here in NZ, it is quite low cost comparatively. Suits those who want smaller, or whose budge is stretched. Some full sized iPad sales will be cannibalised, but there will also be new users joining the Apoe eco system. Good mov IMO

It costs $170 less than the iPad 2 did when it was released, and has the same pixel resolution, faster connectivity, and (I think) better cameras.
What's not to like?
