Yes, you can change that, but it always reverts back to your phone's
assigned number. And during the short time it's maybe showing your GV
number in that spot, a call from the native phone app will still show up
on caller ID as coming from the assigned number rather than GV number.

I would suspect it's something in the SIM and won't allow you to change
it. Otherwise you could just make up any number to put in there and
there would be all sorts of chaos with the phone system.
