I don't know why your battery should drain so quickly.. Do you know how old it is?One thing I have learned is that if you have a lot of apps that run in the background it can be a big battery drain. To check, go to the settings. Go to location first and then notifications. If most of you apps are turned on for either, then turn them off. You can turn them back on as you need them but I think you'll see a big difference in your battery viability.
Also and I have heard this helps, about once a week double click on the lower level of apps and then when they show up as a separate line, double click them again. hold down one of the apps until is shakes, which will cause them all to shake. You will then see see a minus sign inside a circle above each app. Click on the minus sine. This WILL NOT erase your app, but is will clear some of the apps from running in the background. When you click on the minus sign the app will disappear, but won't delete. Everytime u use an app it will end up using battery power. I think this will help your battery.
One other idea; in settings go to general and go to network (I think). it will say G3 with an on/off button next to it. Turn G3 off. You will then if you are with AT&T go into the E network.E is a little slower and some apps will not work well or at all on the E network, but I find most do. This too I think will save battery and perhaps data as well.

My battery is draining very fast. I have to charge it twice in a day. I
mainly use it for emails not so much. 1/2 calls in a day if received. This
is iPhone 4s 16GB.
