> Still nursing along a 6s plus, and hoping Apple returns to having headphone jacks. My sister in law defected to Galaxy (I told her to wait a month but her old i4 was basically gone) - it has a headphone jack.
Every iPhone had a headphone connection.
They USED TO have a big hole penetrating into the interior of the phone, 3.5mm in diameter, and about 15mm long, known as a "mini-phone-jack" – the small version of those plugs in use on telephone switchboard a century ago.
Now the headphone connection is the lightning port (presuming you don't want to use Bluetooth), and the iPhones without a mini phone jack have all come with a lightning-to-mini phone jack adapter in the box. Also with better waterproofing without that big hole in the case.
