Apple provides an adapter with the newer iPhones that enables using the Lightning port to connect wired listening devices.

Still nursing along a 6s plus, and hoping Apple returns to having headphone jacks.  My sister in law defected to Galaxy (I told her to wait a month but her old i4 was basically gone) - it has a headphone jack.
