Yes, that's what I thought at first. But, as I said in my post, of the four devices we have with us, only my iPhone has the problem. So there must be something different about that iPhone. The question is what can it be?

Sadly the hotels in india do not provide clear log in instructions to the guest and sometimes require entries to be made in capitals and other such peculiarities. A visit to the reception asking (or demanding) that the wifi be made to work may yield the desired results.
