I don't mind not having the App Store in iTunes 12.7 since it doesn't affect whether or not I can backup my iDevices to my Mac.
Jim, you keep talking about backing up your idevice to your mac, but you haven't answered my questions about how you do that.
This does not backup the apps on the iPhone, but iTunes NEVER backed up apps on devices.
But it will store a list of the apps on the device.
The difference from 12.6 to 12.7 is that, when restoring to an empty device, formerly you could choose to restore your apps from "the cloud", whereas now you are pretty much obliged to do that.
The latest description from Apple states:
If you use iTunes 12.7 backup, I know it doesn't backup apps. But does it backup app data and settings?
…
When you backup to your mac, what exactly gets backed up?
iTunes backupsSyncing your device with your computer isn't the same as making a backup. An iTunes backup includes nearly all of your device's data and settings. An iTunes backup doesn't include:• Content from the iTunes and App Stores, or PDFs downloaded directly to iBooks (You can back up this content using Transfer Purchases in iTunes.)• Content synced from iTunes, like imported MP3s or CDs, videos, books, and photos• Photos already stored in the cloud, like My Photo Stream, and iCloud Photo Library• Touch ID settings• Apple Pay information and settings• Activity, Health, and Keychain data (To back up this content, you'll need to use Encrypted Backup in iTunes.)

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.
