In iOS 11 pushing the power button 5 times disables finger print or facial recognition on the X. The pass code must be used to get into the phone.
With Touch ID, 5 failed attempts force the user to enter the passcode.
With Face ID, 2 (or3?) failed attempts force passcode use.
A failed attempt may include 2 or 3 other faces looking at the screen, or passible even looking with your eyes closed.
