I neither had any trouble upgrading my four compatible iOS devices.
Updating 1 GB of Garage Band does take time, though.

My default device at all, an iPad Air 2, feels snappier under iOS 10.

There have been reports of problems with upgrading to iOS10. Make sure you have a current backup - some have needed to Restore.
