Re: [apple-iphone] AT&T eases up on throttling

They mean unlimited GB. Throttling is speed, they aren't referring to speed

So, unlimited is correct, but how they appear to manage it appears flawed. When we trialed unlimited BB years ago, we were very straight up with what we would throttle, and when.   An unlimited (usage) plan with a fair limit is fair, and its fair to throtlle when users go over that high limit, but you guys seem to have a low limit.  Another way to look at it, is if there was no throttling. Then, when it was abused, throughput slows through congestion, you have the same result. You could see the younguns leaving mobile data on 24/7 as they can.

I know I have limited bandwidth. It's what I signed up for. My complaint isn't with limited use. It's with "unlimited" contracts. The telcos are abuse of "unlimited". Unlimited means no limits. Throttling is limiting. I don't see the telcos ever changing, just the dictionary.

What we want and what the contract we sign have no relationship to the other.

I never said AT&T, but I would still bet you don't have a copy of your contract with your current carrier, and that is what counts, if you want to argue with your carrier. Not your wishes.

No I don't have a copy of the AT&T contract anymore. I'm with VZ now. I have never felt throttling was fair because we all pay the same amount that we signed up to pay every month. When the cell company throttles, shouldn't we pay less during that time? Of course cell companies won't go for it.

Alice, where does it say they will provide unthrottled service? They don't even guarantee the speed of service.

I'll bet you a dollar to a stale donut you don't even have a copy if the contract.

Still not good. We pay for non-throttled service, so we should get it.
