So, my bottom line question is this: what is average sync time with MACs?
Sync time varies — depending largely on the amount of stuff to sync. If iTunes thinks it needs to sync 10 GB of stuff over a USB-2 connection, it *will* take a long time.
To a degree, this also depends on how long between syncs — since usually there's more updating to do in a month than in 3 days.
That said, I sync my iPhone regularly and frequently (2-4 times per week), it's a 64 GB 5S, and a recent model Macbook Pro, and the sync I just did after reading your message took almost exactly 1 minute (60 seconds).
