Agreed. I never sync my camera via cable, instead removing the SD card and plugging into my PC. Even considering the time to remove the SD cars, it's much faster.

Didn't your Cannon come with a cord that plugs into your camera and has a USB connector on the other end? Then, if using a Mac, you use image capture to get the photos off your camera.
