Gazelle doesn't ask, but they will pay more if they feel the phone is better than they thought they were getting. That happened for me a couple years ago when I sold them my 4. They quoted a price to me and I sent it to them expecting to get that much from them. But after getting it they emailed me that the phone was in better shape than expected so they tossed another $20 or $25 my way.
