Finally succeeded in my test; if the Reminder app is not open, I do not get the reminder when arriving home. 

Is that efficient?

I asked Siri my address and she responded correctly so today I asked for a reminder when I got home. The reminder was put on the list in Reminders but I did not get a banner or audio notification.
