Re: [apple-iphone] Apple ID

When you set up phone or turn on iMessage you have to enter ONE Apple ID.  However if you go to Settings > MEssages > Receive Messages At > you can add as many email addresses / phone number as you like so you can use the email from another Apple ID and register it to as many devices as you want one at the time but you can only initially turn it on with ONE ID.

Bill, could you make that clearer? Are you saying that Messages can only use one Apple ID at a time? Are you saying that she has to change the Apple ID to check the messages for the another account?

Messages registers email addresses and phone numbers on a per device basis and all devices are registered with an Apple ID.

Or have you switched from talking about Messages to purchases.

In that case just switch Apple ID and password to purchase in the other.

I have no idea how to keep two Apple ID open in Messages at the same time, I have no need to.

I need to have 2 separate APPLE IDs because one is business and one is personal, but I am reading that this is a horrible idea. if we are using one 1 ID to manage all iTunes, that is going to screw everything up for me. keeping business and personal separate.
