Yes, but they have time frames attached.  I have to wait for 14 days after paying the early termination fee in order to purchase an iPhone5s to allow for possible "buyer's remorse".  My guess is that some scams must have sparked such a rule.

When I went from the 3GS to 4s I used the trade in for convenience. but I've been wondering if it is worth the effort to sell it on my own.
