Thanks everyone. You are right my badge notifications were off. I turned it back on and I also have banners on which I'm not sure I quite understand what that means even though it says what it means. I have been turning things off lately to save my battery which isn't that old but seems to be using up a lot of power these days. I have not gotten a new message yet but I will check it out when I do. Thank you so much this is such a helpful group!
I am never sure exactly what all the settings mean in general. Sometimes I Change them to see what happens, but then don't know exactly what I did Unless I write it down somewhere which for me is a losing battle. Maybe there is some kind of way on the web to know exactly what things mean like badge on or somebody other choices. Honestly though sometimes I look up information and what It says to do is not exactly what I see on my device and that goes for different websites as well or it's written in such away that to me makes no sense.
