Have you changed your number, device or carrier? If not then contact your
carrier ... it sounds like the "translation" table of what is and isnt an
iMessage isnt working - the only instances I have read is when someone
didn't turn off iMessage on an "old" device and tried to turn it on with a
"new".
If still not working then just turn it off and use SMS until carrier can
resolve..
