[apple-iphone] newbie here - the old screen protector question

 

I bought my first smartphone/iPhone 5 last weekend. I bought a BookBook case for it that I LOVE, but it doesn't protect the glass when dropped in my purse. Is the consensus of opinion on this topic that we should or shouldn't put a film type screen protector on it?
