> I may be foggy on the details of the new AppleCare, because I have the old on my 4S. I'd have to look up the details, but I thought the price went up, and it is more expensive if you need a replacement.
Strange.
Mine is also a 4S, and when I got it, at release time, I think, the extended warranty that was available was the Applecare+ warranty.
With the old, original Applecare, if you dropped it and broke a screen, it was not covered, and the screen replacement was, I think, $99. If it was completely dead, then tough, you got to BUY a new one.
If it simply ceased to function, with no water or breakage, Applecare would replace it (during the term of the warranty).
With Applecare+ the toilet-dip or drop-and-break (screen or whole phone dead) is $49 to repair or replace.
