As I posted earlier in a different thread, I'm not sure why the need to
break everything up but it appears to be the direction they're going.
I've been test-driving the podcasts app with lukewarm results. I've
searched high and low for some settings but find nothing, neither in the
app nor in the settings app. Obviously I'm overlooking it somewhere. I'm
with Bill on the need for iTunes integration as it relates to what has
been played and what hasn't. There are things I've played either on my
laptop (Win7) or via the Music or Videos app but they are marked as
unplayed on the Podcasts app. And I like being able to sync only those
unplayed from computer to iPhone.
I do like the ability to search for and subscribe to various podcasts. I
sometimes do so on iTunes on my computer, but I may be more likely to do
so on my iPhone through this app. So kudos for that. Yes, I could find
and listen through the iOS iTunes, but it doesn't appear to be playable
in the background. Or maybe I've been missing something on it as well.
Honestly, I've barely opened iTunes on my iPhone.

They have already separated Video out of iPod.app to make Music, and now
the rumor is that they are separating Podcast out of Music. I wonder

Apple do. The best way to get those things implemented, I'm guessing, is
