I much prefer to use my Google Voice number for everything. For example, when I'm at any laptop or desktop, I can go to Google Voice and call anyone using VOIP. If I have a data connection such as a WiFi, I can use Google Voice to make a call using apps on the iPhone. Since I've designated the iPhone Verizon number as the "go to" number, I pick up my end of the conversation on the iPhone.
On my old iPhone 3G, I could go to settings>phone and enter the Google Voice number into "My Number" and other people would pick that up immediately as the call back number.
Now, in the iPhone 4s settings, the number for "Phone" is the Verizon number which cannot be changed. Is there any way to work around or hack this so only the Google voice number shows when I call someone?
