I'm far from a marketing guru but I do handle it for my own company and see
quite a bit of materials from vendors and usually e-mails and
correspondence list the full number so you can easily add to contacts,
etc. Printed materials show the actual and vanity numbers and auditory
materials will say the vanity number several times and the actual number
after words.
So email is typically:
John Doe, Senior VP
ABC Corp
1-800-555-4222
7 Corner St
City, ST. 10002
Business cards/slips are
John Doe, Senior VP
ABC Corp
1-800-555-4ABC (4222)
Verbal advertising is:
Call John Doe at 1-800-555-4ABC that's 1-800-555-4222
I add probably 3-10 people per day to my contacts from clients to vendors
to sales leads and being able to copy/paste the info without changing
anything makes it much easier than those who just try and use vanity info.
If you do want ot Google the term is vanity numbers so "Dialing Vanity #
from iPhone, etc"...
