It will eventually charge but it takes a long time without the 10 watt charge. You need a charger that says at lease 2 amps on it.You should be able to find a suitable charger at Walmart. I bought an iPad Mini 4 yesterday and it came with a 10 watt charger.

A friend of mine just got a used iPad 3 and asked me to take a look at it. I've had it on a charger all day and it's only up to a 61% charge. I've read that Apple came out with a 12 W charger. I'm pretty sure mine are all 5 W. Does anyone have any experience with the larger charger ?
Thanks
