For 99¢ a month I have 50gb. That's plenty for me. Without it is have to remember what free service I put things on.

For free, I have 5gb with Dropbox, 15gb with Google Drive, 5gb with iCloud and looking at more options.
I think I even have some space on MS Onedrive, but never set it up.

I have a Gmail account that I use worth Apple mail. Works great. I use iCloud for all my backups, including mail. I pay 99¢extra a month for 50G of space on iCloud. It's well worth it.

and can backup more to Google like photos.
The most important thing really is trying to keep my new txt messages.
I think the Movetoios app can do that.
