I am a little worried about losing the txt messages, but I have to do the switch :> and hope they

transfer OK.  If not I will have to start fresh and maybe keep my Android a couple weeks before

I sell it, to look back at older messages.

A bit beside your point, but you may want to know:

Android has no problem forwarding text messages to devices or apps, but iOS intentionally has. (My primary smartphone number is used by one of two iPhones, my secondary one is used by one of two Android phones. I have set my primary number to forward calls to my secondary if not answered - a feature of T-Mobile in the Netherlands -, but this service doesn't extend to text messages. I might need it to receive authorization codes related to electronic banking.) I don't know of a work-around, but there may well be.

The most important thing really is trying to keep my new txt messages..

I think the Movetoios app can do that.

Would you have to choose, Rich?

You may have that iTunes back-up, and using a Gmail account you're likely to have your Google stuff in their cloud..

I assume that you could restore that back-up, and still have access to your data at Google. Without any need to double them at Apple.

(I'm using both clouds, with an inclination toward Google due to my non-Apple stuff.)
