That is a sweet looking portable keyboard. For me, it would end up on the bottom of my carry bag or purse. When I grab my phone for a quick note, text or email, I would be inclined to do it quickly and not go through the extras of digging it out of my bag. I can definitely see how it could be a great gadget for longer periods of typing. I have to say that the Smart Keyboard is my choice for my iPad Pros. It is the closet to the laptop keyboard allowing for me to use key combinations that are habit to do from the laptop. I know they are costly but well worth it for all the use it gets. The competitors keyboards just don't measure up with form factor and you don't have to think about charging or pairing. They just work.

You might consider using your voice or a foldable keyboard.
- I don't use voice control or dictation.. I don't even know the possibilities.
- I have this keyboard, but you may find it cheaper elsewhere with maybe another name: <http://www.miniinthebox.com/old-shark-foldable-bluetooth-keyboard-ultra-slim-pocket-wireless-keyboard-for-ios-android-windows-pc-tablet-smartphone_p4376683.html>. I do like it, but I don't use it. (I may take it with me to use with my iPad Air 2 or 12.9" iPad Pro, but at home I default to a 10.5" iPad Pro with Smart Keyboard - and yet I type this using its virtual keyboard. I'm a couch potato.....
Another option to limit your typing is using some text expander. This would be handy if your messages should mainly consist of reusable text blocks.

Narrow doesn't help me at all. I can't use my iPhone 8 Plus in landscape mode for texting because the keyboard takes up most of the space. I really like the 4:3 size (I believe it's the size) of my iPad mini because I can and mostly do use it in landscape. I wish I could on the iPhone. It wouldn't seem so tall.

The X is slightly wider (1/7") than the 8, but more noticeably narrower than the 8+.
