Narrow doesn't help me at all. I can't use my iPhone 8 Plus in landscape mode for texting because the keyboard takes up most of the space. I really like the 4:3 size (I believe it's the size) of my iPad mini because I can and mostly do use it in landscape. I wish I could on the iPhone. It wouldn't seem so tall.

The X is slightly wider (1/7") than the 8, but more noticeably narrower than the 8+.
