One has to keep up with Apple articles or podcasts dealing in Apple tech to know what's going on with Apple. iMore is a good one. Shorter ones are MacOSKen. His is 10 to 15 minutes once every weekday. The other is British Tech News. It's a 5 minute podcast every weekday. Those are ther ones I listen to regularly.

The apparent fact that you didn't notice repeated warnings that these apps would no longer work after you installed iOS 11 … does NOT mean we weren't warned.

I think I started noticing this aspect of iOS 11 while reading about the WWDC back in June.
