Gosh, lots of reasons to use a charger of some sort. It is very rare for me to charge it from a computer.
A lady I know doesn't own a computer and has to use a charger.
I charge mine in the bedroom at night.
I don't take a computer on business trips so I use a charger
I charge it from one of those little battery extender things when I'm in meetings.
I use a charger in my office because we are not allowed to plug a personal cell phone into a work computer as it would be a security violation.
I charge it from a solar panel on camping trips

Are the iDevices charging?
(Can someone explain why it's designed this way? If you connect to a charger you might as well connect via USB to a computer running iTunes, so it seems a pointless option!)
