My daughter just has to have the new iPhones as soon as they come out. She is going straight to the 6+ 128 Meg, I expect she will get disallusioned very quickly with the large size and I will inherit it! IF there are problems - I'll post about it. If anything has battery problems, it will be the combination of large screen and big memory.
As for sapphire vs. gorilla glass or whatever it is - I always run - not walk - to the Zagg kiosk at the mall outside the Apple store for their screen protector. It is tough as screen protectors get, and as long as I don't pound the phone down on a sharp object, it protects from scratches. Seriously - the biggest problem I have is usually keys in the pocket with the phone. NOT a good thing. And the one weakness of Zagg - water. If it gets wet, it will start to lose adhesion around the edges.
