Hi Ellen - I have an Alive-Cor EKG unit that communicates with an iPhone to record EKGs as needed. It used to be by prescription only but I think now it is over the counter. Check out www.alivecor.com. You can check yourself anytime, print out great charts of your EKGs for your physician and can consult their cardiologists ( for an extra fee). I have an irregular heartbeat ( not atrial fib). I use the alive Cor to help determine if I need to see the doctor quickly.

Had an episode of Atrial Fib today. My neighbor (a cardio-fellow) came over and all I had to do his hold his iPhone, and it read my EKG right away. That was really KOOL! Yea, well I did spend the day at the hospital observation, but the A-Fib converted to normal rhythm by itself so got to come home at night after being monitored all day.Ellen
